Ominous threat lobbed at Kash Patel on CNN after latest 'attacks'

A Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee lobbed an ominous threat at FBI Director Kash Patel during a CNN interview on Monday.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) joined CNN's Erin Burnett on "Erin Burnett OutFront," where they discussed a recent report by The Atlantic detailing Patel's excessive drinking and on-the-job absenteeism. It also included details about an instance where the SWAT team was called to wake up Patel because he was not answering his phone after a night out drinking.

Patel sued The Atlantic for $250 million, alleging he was defamed by the article. He also told Maria Bartiromo of Fox News that people who "come after" him should expect to appear in court.

Klobuchar told Burnett that Patel should expect to hear from her committee.

"We must have an immediate hearing with Kash Patel," Klobuchar said. "If he says, 'See you in court,' I think he should also say, ' See you in the Judiciary Committee.'"

"It's not a surprise that his response, instead of either resigning or giving his facts out there, he attacks and sues in court," Klobuchar said. "This is what this administration does. There's a constant attack on journalism in the media, and it's time and time again these suits by Donald Trump and others are ultimately thrown out."
