One of the key figures in President Donald Trump's mass deportation plan openly cheered a blog post by a known anti-Semitic and racist social media account Monday, according to a report.

The Daily Beast reported that former Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino shared an April 9 article from the blog American Greatness that argued "mass arrests are the only way forward to mass deportations."

in a post on X on April 20, Bovino linked to the blog post and commented "vindication for mass deportations" and "hard to ignore facts," accompanied by American flag and flexing arm emojis. He also tagged right-wing influencers Nick Sortor, Benny Johnson and Lauren Witzke.

"Good article," Bovino added in the comments to his supporters. "Mass deportations are way past due. What are we waiting on!!!"

The author of the post goes by the pseudonym Federale, which also pens pieces on the site VDARE. The Daily Beast described VDARE as an "anti-immigrant website" and noted that the Southern Poverty Law Center criticized it as a platform for "white nationalists, race scientists and anti-Semites."

The Daily Beast also connected Federales to an X account that wished Adolf Hitler a happy birthday on Monday and to a WordPress site that has Spanish Fascist dictator Francisco Franco as the header and several articles calling a Cato Institute analyst a "lying Jew."

In November, Bovino showed up in a long trench coat similar to those worn by SS officers, leading to nicknames like "Gestapo Greg."

Trump appointed Bovino as a commander of immigration operations in Los Angeles, Chicago and Minneapolis during the past year.

While the controversial Operation Metro Surge chaotically unfolded in Minneapolis in January, the New York Times reported that Bovino called U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen a part of the "chosen people" and made fun of his choice to observe Shabbat.

Trump threw Bovino under the bus after Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis led to the death of two activists by fatal shootings, and sent him back to El Centro, California. He retired in March.
