Kash Patel grilled by Fox News host following Saturday's chaotic security breach

FBI Director Kash Patel was questioned on Fox News Monday morning regarding the security failures that allowed alleged gunman, Cole Tomas Allen, to reach an entrance area at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, despite a prior alert with his description.

Patel stated the FBI and partners were examining the incident, noting the Behavioral Analysis Unit has been analyzing collected evidence including emails, social media postings, and witness interviews to establish the suspect's mindset and intent.

In conversation with host Lawrence Jones, Patel declined to answer whether authorities were aware of the suspicious "chatter" that surrounded Allen before the attack.

Instead, Patel stated details would emerge in the criminal complaint.

Reports by The Daily Beast indicate the Trump administration did not designate the event with the highest security level. The Secret Service protection was limited to the ballroom and immediate perimeter rather than the entire hotel, raising questions about the security gaps that enabled Allen's approach.
