The cryptocurrency sector continues to be a target of cyberattacks originating from North Korea. With recent losses mounting, Ripple (XRP), one of the sector’s leading players, has announced a comprehensive security collaboration to combat these attacks.
Ripple has officially partnered with the Crypto Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Crypto ISAC) to combat North Korea’s new and sophisticated wave of cyberattacks.
Accordingly, Ripple will share critical data with its Crypto ISAC security network as a precaution against North Korean hacker attacks.
Ripple will provide the blacklist of individuals suspected of being North Korean cyber agents exclusively to the non-profit security organization Crypto ISAC.
The new collaboration will track fraudulent wallets and malicious websites. The shared information will not consist solely of numbers. The data will include detailed personal information such as LinkedIn profiles, email addresses, and phone numbers.
Thanks to the new interface developed by Crypto ISAC, data will be available in real time. The system, which includes large organizations such as Coinbase, will be able to transmit threat data directly to companies’ security centers.
This will enable the industry to block hackers in real time who are rejected by one company and then try to apply to another.
Ripple emphasized that this collaboration and implementation with Crypto ISAC will enable faster coordination across the industry against attacks. The new method aims to narrow the scope of action for cybercriminals.
