Ride into the night at RUD Karting’s 774-metre race track with 16 corners and various kart options for different levels of competition and abilities. Start on the Basic kart, step up to the faster B-Stage kart once you’ve found your feet, or grab a 2-seater Twin kart to bring a passenger along. Not so keen on competing with the rest? There’s a cafe to chill at and KTV rooms to enjoy too!

RUD bills its Sutera Mall outlet as the first karting circuit inside a shopping centre, and it’s the rare spot that runs both electric and petrol karts on a roughly 400m track, with a separate kids’ track too. The karts can hit serious speeds, so it’s a proper step up in thrill from the gentler mall electrics. Planning a full afternoon? The Day Pass is the value play.

A whopping 1.4km track with 14 turns spread across 10 acres of land, Permas Go Kart gets you out of the city to race to your heart’s content. It’s a little out of the way, but the space makes the race all the more liberating and exciting!

This one’s for the adrenaline junkies! X Park Sunway Iskandar has a whole range of activities besides go-karting, like archery, paintball and rock climbing. It’s a great spot for family fun, or to test your friendships across a whole day of activities. The karting itself has three options: kiddie karts, faster karts and double-seaters for shared rides.

Another all-in-one spot, EnerG X Park is an indoor amusement park and playground with a whole range of activities like trampolines and zip-lines, plus an indoor electric go-kart arena. It sits inside Sunway Big Box mall, so it’s easy to fold into a bigger play day. Just note the karting price doesn’t include the compulsory grip socks and gloves. (And despite the similar name, this is a different operator from X Park Sunway.)

The easiest race to slot into a JB day, because it’s parked right on top of KSL City Mall. GO! KARTING runs electric karts with adjustable speed settings on the Level 6 car park, plus parent-child dual-seater karts so even little ones can ride along. One catch: the mall escalators only reach Level 4, so take the lift up to Level 6.

Run by City Karting at Angsana Johor Bahru Mall, this petrol track is ideal for families and beginners, with single-seaters that hit a decent clip and double-seaters geared for kids. Note the mall is in Tampoi, not Skudai, if you’re keying it into Maps.

A newer indoor electric track inside AEON Mall Tebrau City, OMK is handy if you’re already on the Tebrau side for shopping or food. It runs tiered karts (a child kart, a regular kart and a faster “pro” kart), so you can dial the speed to your group.

It’s never too early to start them young! This colourful track is tailored for young children, with electric karts capped at a gentle 8 km/h on a 200m, 12-corner loop. Kids from 100cm can drive solo, while smaller ones can ride along with an adult. It’s located within Mid Valley Southkey, a one-stop mall for the whole family in JB.

The one for night owls and anyone who wants to slide. GT Karting is open until 2 AM daily, and alongside standard go-karts it runs drift karts (which slide on command via a lever) and bigger karts for adults. It’s near Linear Park Tebrau, opposite Toppen, so it pairs well with a late dinner nearby.

Drift to your heart’s content at Drift Master Club, or DMC Karting. It’s an indoor go-karting arena just 20 minutes from the checkpoints, where the karts spin a full 360 via a side lever. The staff will show you the ropes on how to pull off drifting stunts, then you’re off on your own to make your Mario Kart dreams come to life! Add LED goggles for a few ringgit if you want the full neon experience.

This one’s slightly different from the rest, because there’s no racing involved. But if you’re after an adventure on wheels, ATV Park Johor lets you go off-road and explore the forests of Johor on ATVs, buggies and dirtbikes. Slots are first-come, first-served, but reservations are required for night rides.

Most JB tracks go by height, not age, since the kart’s pedals and seat are the real limit. Here’s the quick version:
No driving licence is needed at any of these tracks. Limits do vary by venue and can change, so it’s worth a quick message to the track before you make the trip with little ones.
Confirm the current height rule with the venue.

If you’re working off an older list, two updates for 2026:
On the flip side, RUD’s Sutera Mall outlet, GO! KARTING at KSL and OMK at AEON Tebrau have all opened up the indoor scene, so there’s more choice closer to the malls than ever.

Around 30 to 75 MYR (~S$10 to S$24) for a single 10-minute adult session, depending on the track and kart speed. Kids’ karts start at about 35 MYR (~S$11). Budget tracks like EnerG and DMC sit at the lower end; faster karts at RUD and X Park sit at the top.
For a casual visit, plan on two sessions per person, so roughly 60 to 150 MYR (~S$19 to S$48) a head with a few extras. Add transport and food, and a half-day go-kart outing from Singapore comes to well under S$100 a person.
For a casual race, yes. One 10-minute session is plenty to get the hang of it, and a second lets you actually improve your lap. Serious drivers chasing a fast time will want more, which is where day passes (like RUD Sutera’s) start to pay off.
There’s no universal age limit; most tracks go by height. Dedicated kids’ karts take drivers from about 100cm, adult electric karts usually need around 140cm, and faster single-seaters need roughly 152cm. No licence is required. Always confirm with the venue.
Yes, when you pick a reputable track. Venues provide helmets, give a safety briefing, and cap speeds on beginner and kids’ karts. Wear closed shoes, tie back long hair, and follow the marshal’s flags.
Indoor (electric) is comfortable, weather-proof and beginner-friendly, and usually sits inside a mall. Outdoor (petrol) is longer, faster and more rewarding if you’re competitive. RUD Sutera Mall is the rare spot that offers both.
