New York Mag reveals John Fetterman's eyebrow-raising private texts

Private text messages obtained by New York Magazine reveal Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) dismissing the Epstein files as a "nothing burger," mocking healthcare affordability concerns, and comparing an ICE-killed nurse to Kyle Rittenhouse.

In January texts to staffers, Fetterman questioned how healthcare could be affordable, writing, "How should it cost? Free?"

After the release of the Epstein files, he texted, "Epstein was a nothing burger. Worst pics I've seen were from Clinton lol."

And when ICE agents killed Minneapolis nurse Alex Pretti, Fetterman focused on perceived Democratic hypocrisy rather than the killing.

Staff describe Fetterman as "acting like a Republican" and are "incredulous and exhausted," with his chief of staff resigning the week the story was published.

Staffers also refer to him jokingly as the "senator from Tel Aviv" due to him prioritizing Israel over other work.

A February Quinnipiac poll found only 22% of Pennsylvania Democrats approve of his performance, while 73% of Republicans do — the opposite from when Fetterman took office.
