Bitget has announced the launch of Reality, a regulated real-world asset issuance platform designed for global markets, marking a new attempt to close the long-running gap between traditional finance and crypto-native infrastructure. The platform enters a space that has often struggled with a basic trade-off: tokenized assets could either be compliant and restricted, or flexible and liquid, but rarely both. Reality says it wants to end that compromise.

Built as a subsidiary of Bitget, Reality is focused on turning real-world assets into on-chain instruments that preserve the value and behavior of the underlying asset while making them easier to access, move, and use across decentralized finance. According to the company, the platform works with licensed brokers on major exchanges, including Nasdaq and NYSE, to source the underlying securities. Those assets are then safeguarded by independent custodians, while the corresponding economic exposure is issued on-chain.

The bigger idea behind Reality is not just tokenization for its own sake, but a broader redesign of how financial markets can operate. Bitget says the platform is meant to make the future of finance feel ordinary rather than experimental, dissolving the boundaries that still separate traditional markets from crypto. In that vision, tokenized assets are not a niche product sitting beside the financial system. They become the default layer underneath it.

A Unified On-Chain Asset Market

Reality’s launch begins with stocks, but the platform is structured to expand into ETFs and bonds as well. The company’s long-term aim is to build a single system where stocks, bonds, Treasuries, and even DeFi yields can operate under one framework. In other words, Reality is positioning itself as infrastructure, not just a product, with the ambition of making “tokenized assets” simply “assets.”

The platform highlights several features that it says are designed to solve the weaknesses that have held back earlier RWA products. Every rToken is described as fully backed by real securities held through regulated brokers, with reserve ratios maintained above 100% and visible on-chain. That over-collateralized structure is intended to give users confidence that the tokens actually reflect the value of the underlying assets.

Liquidity is another major focus. Reality says it sources institutional-grade liquidity directly through licensed brokers connected to Nasdaq and NYSE, aiming to bring traditional market depth and execution quality into the tokenized environment. Dividends are distributed in stablecoins, which the company says helps keep token pricing clean and aligned with the underlying stock without the distortions that can come from rebasing or reinvestment mechanics.

The platform also supports 24/5 minting and redemption, allowing users to create or redeem rTokens around the clock during the trading week. Reality says it has built a flexible settlement model that supports both real-time and asynchronous settlement, while the underlying share transactions are still executed in real time through licensed brokers. That means tokens can be minted or burned instantly, or netted daily for better capital efficiency.

Another part of the pitch is accessibility. Reality supports fractional tokens. It lowers the barrier to entry for users who want exposure to high-value assets without needing to buy a full share-equivalent token. At the same time, the platform is designed to be permissionless and DeFi composable. It means that rTokens can be transferred freely, used as collateral, or integrated into compatible DeFi protocols without restrictions.

Transparency appears to be a central theme as well. Reality says its infrastructure is regulated, audited, and over-collateralized, with reserve holdings independently verified by The Network Firm, a licensed CPA firm, and reports made publicly available. Its smart contracts have also been independently reviewed by security firms, with audit reports available for users to inspect.

Bitget says Reality was built to address two core issues that have repeatedly limited tokenized assets: thin liquidity and broken corporate actions. By combining regulated backing, stablecoin dividends, 24/5 minting and redemption, and DeFi composability, the company believes it has created a more complete issuance platform for on-chain securities.

For Bitget, Reality is more than a product launch. It is a bet that the next generation of capital markets will not be divided between traditional finance and crypto, but unified through infrastructure that can move between both worlds without friction. If that model works, tokenized stocks may no longer feel like a workaround. They may start to look like the normal way assets are supposed to behave in an always-on, borderless financial system.
