President Donald Trump has had four annual physicals since taking office last year, and the White House information about the details has remained thin, doctors noticed.

The Wall Street Journal reported late Sunday that the information about his cardiovascular health appears to lack detail. It's just one of several concerns they have about this latest physical.

Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella is Trump's physician, and in his update, he claimed Trump “remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.”

"Barbabella’s description of Trump’s cardiac health cites results from a coronary CT angiography, typically done to check for narrowed or blocked arteries in the heart; an echocardiogram, which makes an image of the heart using sound waves; and an artificial-intelligence-enhanced electrocardiogram analysis," the report explained. Barbabella claimed that an AI analysis calculated Trump's cardiac age at 65 rather than nearly 80.

“If I was creating a report to send to another physician, I would have mentioned a little bit more about the carotid ultrasound,” Dr. William Shutze, a Texas vascular surgeon told The Wall Street Journal. “What amount of plaque there is going to be — because almost all of us are going to have some buildup there.”

The report explained that doctors would want to see calcium scores to determine plaque in the arteries. There's also a test about the narrowing of the arteries and a patient is given a score for that as well. Trump's report said there is “no arterial obstruction or structural abnormalities” in the heart. Physicians said it basically means there's no blockage.

They suggested additional tests to assess Trump's heart health.

The White House reacted to questions about his health by claiming Trump is more transparent than any other president about his health.

The questions are surfacing after Republicans were relentless about the health and well-being of former President Joe Biden, whose physical reports remained glowing despite public concern. After leaving office, Biden was also found to have stage 4 prostate cancer that is so aggressive that it had entered his bones. Physicians told the Journal that if his tests had included a prostate screening, he could have been spared.

Meanwhile, Trump's legs are swelling, his hands are showing signs of bruising and a rash appeared on his neck this year. The medical report claims that they see "improvements" in Trump's swelling from last year, but gives no reason for the improvement. In previous physicals, there have been details about Trump's skin condition since he has sun damage on his neck and benign lesions.

Trump's cholesterol numbers were also "extremely good," said the report. He takes medication for his cholesterol. Dr. Daniel Torrent said that Trump has "got like the best cholesterol numbers you'll see. We don't usually manage people to the point where they're that good."

It poses the question of why he would still be taking the medication if he had such great numbers.

“That report is almost too good to be true for somebody of his age,” Shutze said. “This seems to be a filtered narrative.”
