MoonPay Expands Globally with New Crypto Payment Platform

  • MoonPay launched a global platform enabling businesses to accept crypto payments for products and services easily and securely.
  • The new MoonPay Commerce integrates Helio’s technology, offering seamless checkout, API tools, and global crypto-fiat flexibility.

MoonPay has launched MoonPay Commerce, a new platform that allows anyone to accept crypto payments for a variety of products and services worldwide.

Unlike previous platforms that focused solely on crypto purchases and exchanges, MoonPay Commerce takes a more holistic approach.

Using technology adapted from Helio, a crypto payments startup previously acquired by MoonPay, it now provides the infrastructure that enables faster, cheaper, and more hassle-free crypto transactions. More than 6,000 merchants and developers are already using this system, including Shopify, Ledger, and the Solana Foundation.

Simplifying Global Crypto Payments for Everyone

MoonPay Commerce is designed to be easy to use for anyone, even small businesses. With integrations in the form of widgets, plugins, and payment links, users can add crypto payment options to their websites or online stores without needing to learn complex blockchain technology.

Even more exciting, customers can pay using debit or credit cards, while merchants still receive the proceeds in crypto—convenient and efficient.

However, this flexibility doesn’t stop there. For developers who want more in-depth customization, APIs, SDKs, and webhooks are available for custom integrations.

The system also provides merchants with the option to accept payments directly in crypto or automatically convert them to fiat currencies like US dollars or euros. This way, volatility risks can be mitigated without sacrificing transaction speed.

Furthermore, MoonPay emphasizes that transactions via Commerce are chargeback-free and have lower fees than traditional payment methods.

The additional features are quite compelling—from splitting payments across multiple wallets to an automated subscription system and affiliate tracking for content creators who want to monetize their work more transparently.

MoonPay Strengthens Its Vision for a Unified Payment Network

This launch is also part of MoonPay’s aggressive strategy to expand its global business. In mid-September, as reported by CNF, MoonPay officially acquired Meso, a company specializing in decentralized payment networks.

They want to strengthen their vision of building an integrated global payment network that connects banks, cards, and blockchain. Two former Meso leaders, Ali Aghareza and Ben Mills, have now joined MoonPay’s technology and product teams.

Furthermore, in the same month, MoonPay also introduced MoonTags, an innovation that allows users to send and receive crypto with just a simple username, eliminating the hassle of copying long wallet addresses full of numbers and letters.

MoonTags can even automatically select the appropriate blockchain network, drastically reducing the risk of sending errors.

Furthermore, the integration between MoonPay Commerce and Solana Pay on Shopify demonstrates the company’s ambitious ambition to penetrate the e-commerce sector.

With support for popular assets like USDC, USDT, BTC, ETH, and SOL, the platform is now available globally, making MoonPay a major player in the blockchain-based payments industry.

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
