Anthropic introduces a memory function for Claude, enhancing team productivity by remembering projects and preferences, while offering full user control over data retention.

Anthropic has announced a significant update to its AI assistant, Claude, by introducing a new memory feature designed to enhance workplace productivity. This innovative function allows Claude to remember team projects and preferences across conversations, providing a seamless experience for users managing complex workflows.

Memory Features and Benefits

The memory feature, as detailed by Anthropic, is fully optional and provides users with granular control over what information is retained. It is set to benefit Team and Enterprise plan users by maintaining context across various professional engagements, thus eliminating the need to repeatedly explain project details.

With this update, Claude can track ongoing projects, keeping client needs and team processes organized across different tasks. This functionality is particularly beneficial for sales and product teams, which require consistent access to project-specific information without the hassle of re-establishing context.

Safety and Privacy Considerations

Prior to this rollout, Anthropic conducted extensive safety testing to ensure Claude’s memory feature does not reinforce harmful conversational patterns or undermine user safety. Adjustments were made to refine the AI’s responses, ensuring that it provides helpful and secure interactions.

Furthermore, the memory feature includes project-specific boundaries, allowing users to manage multiple initiatives without mixing unrelated details. This effectively safeguards sensitive information by keeping it compartmentalized.

Incognito Chat for Sensitive Discussions

Claude now also offers an Incognito chat mode, which facilitates confidential conversations without storing any data in memory. This feature is ideal for brainstorming sessions or strategic discussions where privacy is paramount. Regular memory and conversation history remain unaffected, ensuring that users’ data retention settings are respected.

Deployment and Future Expansion

The memory feature is currently being rolled out to Team and Enterprise users, with Enterprise admins having the option to disable it at any time. Anthropic is taking a phased approach to this deployment, continuously evaluating its impact and effectiveness before considering broader availability.

To utilize this new feature, users need to enable memory in the Settings of the Claude app. This allows Claude to generate memory from past interactions, which can be edited and managed based on user preference.

Anthropic’s introduction of memory to Claude marks a significant advancement in AI-assisted productivity tools, promising to streamline workflows and enhance team collaboration across various sectors.

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
