The decision was made during the network’s biweekly coordination meeting. The move marks the start of the countdown to Ethereum’s second major hard fork in 2025. The most notable innovation in the Fusaka upgrade is a system called PeerDAS. One of 12 enhancements included in the release, PeerDAS allows validators to verify only specific portions of data rather than entire “blobs” of data. This approach will significantly reduce bandwidth requirements, lowering costs for validators and layer-2 networks.
