UNDP Prepares Global Blockchain Training Initiative for Sustainable Growth

TLDR:

  • UNDP plans blockchain training and advisory programs to drive responsible global adoption.
  • The Blockchain Advisory Group will connect policymakers, innovators, and technical experts.
  • InfStones joined the dialogue to support secure, scalable blockchain infrastructure.
  • The initiative promotes blockchain as a tool for transparency and sustainable growth.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is preparing to roll out global blockchain training and advisory programs. The move follows its High-Level Strategic Dialogue on Blockchain for Development during the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Moreover, the session brought together public institutions, innovators, and blockchain firms to design a shared roadmap for responsible digital transformation. The initiative signals UNDP’s intent to make blockchain a practical tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Building a Framework for Blockchain and Sustainable Growth

The dialogue marked the first in a planned series of collaborations to shape blockchain’s role in governance, transparency, and inclusion. Attendees examined how decentralized systems can improve traceability, accountability, and cross-sector trust.

A key outcome of the talks was the proposal to form a Blockchain Advisory Group that will connect policymakers and industry experts. This group will focus on developing training programs and frameworks to ensure blockchain adoption aligns with human and environmental priorities.

InfStones, a global blockchain infrastructure provider, participated in the discussion. The company’s involvement highlighted the growing cooperation between enterprise blockchain builders and international development bodies.

InfStones operates across more than 80 blockchains and contributes to building secure and scalable infrastructure. Its engagement reinforced the importance of technical expertise in achieving UNDP’s transparency-driven agenda.

UNDP’s leadership in this field positions it as a bridge between technology and sustainable policy design. The organization aims to equip governments and partners with practical blockchain knowledge, covering areas like financial inclusion, transparent procurement, and environmental tracking.

The upcoming training and advisory programs will serve as a foundation for these goals.

By offering structured education and partnership models, UNDP intends to build long-term blockchain capacity across developing economies. The programs will also promote standards that ensure interoperability and data integrity while preventing misuse of emerging technology.

Global Cooperation for Responsible Blockchain Innovation

This initiative marks a broader shift toward cross-sector collaboration on blockchain governance

As digital systems become central to public infrastructure, ensuring transparency and fairness has become critical. The UNDP’s early engagement aims to balance innovation with ethical implementation.

Future dialogues will expand on these topics, bringing together financial institutions, development agencies, and blockchain startups. The collective mission is to leverage decentralized technology for public good while maintaining security and compliance.

For the blockchain industry, the UNDP’s leadership could establish a trusted framework for integrating digital solutions into social and economic systems.

InfStones’ contribution underscores the need for reliable infrastructure to support these ambitions. By aligning technical capability with policy intent, both public and private sectors are setting the stage for scalable blockchain adoption. The collaboration is expected to advance global sustainability goals while reinforcing trust in decentralized systems.

(Photo by Paul Natkin/Getty Images) Getty Images Singer Lou Gramm has a vivid memory of recording the ballad “Waiting for a Girl Like You” at New York City’s Electric Lady Studio for his band Foreigner more than 40 years ago. Gramm was adding his vocals for the track in the control room on the other side of the glass when he noticed a beautiful woman walking through the door. “She sits on the sofa in front of the board,” he says. “She looked at me while I was singing. And every now and then, she had a little smile on her face. I’m not sure what that was, but it was driving me crazy. “And at the end of the song, when I’m singing the ad-libs and stuff like that, she gets up,” he continues. “She gives me a little smile and walks out of the room. And when the song ended, I would look up every now and then to see where Mick [Jones] and Mutt [Lange] were, and they were pushing buttons and turning knobs. They were not aware that she was even in the room. So when the song ended, I said, ‘Guys, who was that woman who walked in? She was beautiful.’ And they looked at each other, and they went, ‘What are you talking about? We didn’t see anything.’ But you know what? I think they put her up to it. Doesn’t that sound more like them?” “Waiting for a Girl Like You” became a massive hit in 1981 for Foreigner off their album 4, which peaked at number one on the Billboard chart for 10 weeks and…
