The first place viewers will be able to see The Running Man at home is on digital streaming via premium video on demand. The film’s studio, Paramount Pictures, typically has a one-month window between the time its films open in theaters and debut on PVOD.

For example, Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson’s reboot of The Naked Gun arrived on PVOD on Sept. 2, just over a month after opening in theaters on Aug. 1. More recently, Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst’s crime caper, Roofman, debuted on PVOD on Nov. 11, just a month after it opened in theaters on Oct. 10.

Should The Running Man follow the same release pattern, it should arrive on PVOD sometime around Dec. 16, since new films on digital streaming typically arrive on Tuesdays.

When The Running Man arrives on PVOD, it will be available on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube. New PVOD releases generally cost anywhere from $19.99 to $29.99 to purchase or $14.99 to $24.99 to rent for 48 hours.

Which Streaming Service Will Get ‘The Running Man’ First?

Since The Running Man is a Paramount Pictures release, it will first be available on streaming video on demand on Paramount+.

Typically, it takes Paramount releases about two months from the time its films open in theaters to the day they arrive on SVOD on Paramount.’ Again, using Novocaine as an example, it debuted on SVOD on Paramount+ on May 13, just shy of two months after it opened in theaters on March 14.
