Mu Digital raises $1.5M to bridge Asia’s premier investments onchain

Hong Kong, November 20, 2025 – Mu Digital, a Web3 platform bringing Asia’s credit markets onchain, announced a Pre-Seed funding round of US$1.5 million. The round – finalized earlier this year – includes participation from global investors across crypto and traditional financial institutions: UOB Venture Management, CMS Holdings, Signum Capital, Cointelegraph Accelerator and Echo. The company also welcomed notable individual angels from Monad, Cointelegraph, Gauntlet, Yield Guild Games, Kizzy, Clober, Perella Weinberg and Bank of America, among others.

The fundraise reinforces Mu Digital’s position as a category defining real world assets (“RWA”) platform – built to deliver safer, uncorrelated yield backed by the US$20 trillion Asia credit market.

“This investment validates our conviction that tokenized Asia credit will become a foundational yield source for the next generation of DeFi,” said Patrick Hizon, Co-Founder and CEO. “Asia’s fixed income landscape offers structurally higher returns, and we’re bringing that opportunity onchain with institutional discipline.”

What’s next?

Mu Digital will launch on Monad Mainnet on November 24, 2025. The company has launched a Pre-Deposit Program, designed to offer early users access to the highest yield RWA assets and future Mu Digital and Monad ecosystem rewards.

Mu Digital’s product suite includes:

  • Asia Dollar (AZND): A senior risk tranche product backed by high quality Asia credit instruments, offering 6–7% native yield at launch
  • muBOND: A junior risk tranche product designed for users seeking enhanced returns from tokenized Asia credit pools, offering up to 15% native yield at launch

Across the Monad ecosystem, users will be able to swap, leverage, speculate, and compound their yield. Mu Digital aims to build a unified landscape of institutional grade DeFi products powered by real economic activity. The roadmap includes scaling credit origination and expanding DeFi integrations.

What makes Mu Digital unique?

Mu Digital is exclusively focused on bringing real world assets from Asia’s US$20 trillion credit markets onchain. No one in crypto has successfully delivered this asset class onchain at scale. These markets consistently deliver yields higher than developed countries’ fixed income (such as the U.S.), creating a structurally superior base for sustainable, uncorrelated risk adjusted returns.

Mu Digital was founded by former investment bankers who saw firsthand how yield products in Asia were reserved for institutions and ultra wealthy investors. The company distinguishes itself through a combination of Wall Street level credit underwriting, onchain transparency, and deep origination capabilities. The goal is delivering institutional grade DeFi products backed by the highest yield RWA assets available today.

By combining rigorous credit selection with DeFi composability, Mu Digital enables everyday users – not just institutions – to access the benefits of tokenized Asia credit with confidence.

Thoughts from Mu Digital’s backers

“CMS is excited to back Mu Digital ahead of their launch on Monad Mainnet. We believe the team’s experience and knowledge of Asia’s credit market will allow them to deliver interesting new yield opportunities on-chain, particularly at a time of growing interest in RWA’s. We have enjoyed working with them to this point and look forward to their upcoming launch.” – CMS Holdings

“Asia’s credit markets represent one of the largest untapped yield opportunities in the world, yet remain inaccessible to most of DeFi. Mu Digital is changing that. Their combination of institutional-grade underwriting, onchain transparency, and thoughtful protocol design sets a new standard for what real world assets should look like. We are proud to support their launch and long-term vision.” – Cointelegraph Accelerator

“We are very excited about Mu Digital’s launch bringing Asian Credit onchain. With nearly $20 trillion in market value trading in Asian Credit, Mu Digital is set to be a prominent force in the space with its innovative products offering investors a highly attractive yield in a regulated manner.” – Signum Capital

UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach

UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach

The post UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. British crypto holders may soon face a very different landscape as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) moves to expand its regulatory reach in the industry. A new consultation paper outlines how the watchdog intends to apply its rulebook to crypto firms, shaping everything from asset safeguarding to trading platform operation. According to the financial regulator, these proposals would translate into clearer protections for retail investors and stricter oversight of crypto firms. UK FCA plans Until now, UK crypto users mostly encountered the FCA through rules on promotions and anti-money laundering checks. The consultation paper goes much further. It proposes direct oversight of stablecoin issuers, custodians, and crypto-asset trading platforms (CATPs). For investors, that means the wallets, exchanges, and coins they rely on could soon be subject to the same governance and resilience standards as traditional financial institutions. The regulator has also clarified that firms need official authorization before serving customers. This condition should, in theory, reduce the risk of sudden platform failures or unclear accountability. David Geale, the FCA’s executive director of payments and digital finance, said the proposals are designed to strike a balance between innovation and protection. He explained: “We want to develop a sustainable and competitive crypto sector – balancing innovation, market integrity and trust.” Geale noted that while the rules will not eliminate investment risks, they will create consistent standards, helping consumers understand what to expect from registered firms. Why does this matter for crypto holders? The UK regulatory framework shift would provide safer custody of assets, better disclosure of risks, and clearer recourse if something goes wrong. However, the regulator was also frank in its submission, arguing that no rulebook can eliminate the volatility or inherent risks of holding digital assets. Instead, the focus is on ensuring that when consumers choose to invest, they do…
