PANews reported on December 9th that Paradigm stated in its official blog that after analyzing Polymarket's market structure, event data, and smart contracts, they discovered that most Polymarket analytics and dashboards incorrectly double-count transaction volumes. Polymarket's on-chain data is quite complex, leading to the widespread adoption of flawed accounting methods. A common method of summing Polymarket's OrderFilled events results in double-counting of transaction volumes. This method double-counts both the number of contracts traded and the dollar cash flow. Predicting market volume should be measured using one-sided volume metrics, such as taker volume or market maker volume.
