PANews reported on January 4th that Vitalik Buterin stated that with ZK-EVM entering its production-ready alpha phase and PeerDAS launching on the mainnet, Ethereum is moving towards a network architecture possessing high bandwidth, consensus, and decentralization, overcoming the "blockchain trilemma." He anticipates that from 2026 onwards, the gas cap for non-ZK-EVM-dependent nodes will increase, and ZK-EVM nodes will also emerge; between 2027 and 2030, ZK-EVM will become the main force in block verification. Distributed block construction is also a long-term goal, aiming to reduce centralization risks and improve geographical fairness.
