A press release issued by Ofcom that day stated that reports indicated the "Grok" chatbot account on X was used to generate and disseminate sexually explicit content featuring real people, with victims including multiple adult women and minors, raising serious concerns. The press release stated that Ofcom has decided to launch a formal investigation into X to determine whether it has failed to fulfill its legal obligations under the Cyber Security Act. The first step in the investigation is to collect and analyze evidence to determine if any violations have occurred.
