‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Season 3, Episode 4 Sets An IMDB Rating Record

While Jujutsu Kaisen has been a hugely popular anime for years now, this week, it just hit an all-time high-water mark for many fans, and has set a review score record on IMDB from viewership.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 episode 4, Perfect Preparation, currently has a 9.8/10 on IMDB, which makes it the highest-rated episode of the series, but also tied along with several others for the spot as the second-highest-rated anime episode of any show on the site.

Plenty of Jujutsu Kaisen episodes have scored well, with big improvements in season 2, especially. Eight out of 52 episodes have a 9.6/10, but Perfect Preparation rises above the rest. In terms of the larger list, a host of Attack on Titan episodes also have 9.8/10 scores, as in, more than half a dozen. There are only three anime episodes with a 9.9/10 on IMDB:

• Vinland Saga, End of the Prologue – 9.9/10
• Avatar: The Last Airbender, Sozin’s Comet Part 4 – 9.9/10
• Hunter X Hunter, Anger x and x Light – 9.9/10

Further voting could propel the episode of Jujutsu Kaisen higher than that. Without going into true spoilers, a big moment for Maki, a Kill Bill homage, excellent fight scenes and more. Interestingly, there has been some pushback in Japan about the episode, as they’re not quite as on board with Western viewers’ perceptions.

It’s also notable that this is just episode 4 of season 3, and it should be split into two parts of about 12 or 13 episodes each in the Culling Game arc. So there are plenty more opportunities for the show to top itself, or at least match the hype of this episode.
