Here’s What A $280 ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Toy Looks Like, Which You Can Preorder Now

We knew that Netflix had partnered with both Hasbro and Mattel to try and get out a bunch of KPop Demon Hunter toys as soon as they realized what a big hit it was, but now we can see what Mattel specifically has been cooking up. And fans can now pre-order what’s being shown. There are action figures, keychains, minifigs, Polly Pocket versions and even American Girl Dolls. And that’s just the first wave.

However, there are even more high-end toys that, at some point, though some may no longer call them toys, but “scale figures,” (though they are sold by Hot Toys). Preorders for those figures have gone live, and they are a whopping $280 for Rumi, and Zoey and Mira are $260. I’m not quite sure why there’s a price difference there.

They look…incredibly good. Here they are, starting with Rumi:

Zoey:

Mira:

They are 11 inches tall, 1/6th scale, and are easily the most movie-accurate thing being sold for the franchise right now. The problem, however, is when they’ll arrive. Even if you preorder right now, they are not even expected to ship until at least a year from now in January 2027 or even, at the latest, Hot Toys says June 2027. At that point you’re probably just two years away from KPop Demon Hunters 2 on Netflix (estimated to arrive in 2029).

Is all this fuss worth it? It has two faces, eight hands (interchangeable), a sword, mic, smartphone, ramen, lightstick, poster, banner and backdrop. And the toy (figure) has 28 points of articulation to pose it to use all those things. That’s Rumi, anyway, and the other girls have their own specific weapons, of course.

The next-closest price I’ve seen to these Hot Toys figures is the Mattel American Girl Dolls, which retail for $165 each and won’t ship until November 2027. Most of the Mattel toys will not ship until fall 2027, so we’re looking at around a year and a half after the movie actually came out. Given production development and manufacturing for something like this, it’s not unusual. What’s unusual is for a new IP like this to explode so both Netflix and these toy companies scramble to try to create things to sell. Netflix has said that this is its “Frozen” IP, which may have sounded goofy at first, but now that seems like a very true statement. This movie has been on Netflix’s top 10 list for over 7 months now, is its most-watched film by a significant margin, and is probably about to win 2 Oscars. So yeah, I can see people hooked enough to buy $280-260 figures, or even $740 worth, easily.
