Hyperliquid Price Jumps 6% as Whales Go on Buying Spree, Breakout Catalysts to Watch

Key Insights:

  • Hyperliquid price in the spotlight as firm operates with about 14 employees yet posts derivatives volume above Coinbase.
  • Arthur Hayes and Hyperliquid Strategies added millions in HYPE, tightening the circulating supply.
  • Assistance Fund holds 40.7M HYPE and channels nearly all platform revenue into the ecosystem.

Hyperliquid (HYPE) price rose 6% as fresh whale buys and steady treasury demand tightened supply across the market. Large holders added millions in tokens within hours, while platform revenue and a lean team model kept investors focused on margins and cash flow strength.

Arthur Hayes Deal Lifts Hyperliquid Price Sentiment

Data shared by Onchain Lens shows Arthur Hayes bought another 20,274 HYPE worth about $603,000 five hours before the report. His total holding now stands at 189,195 HYPE, valued at roughly $5.79 million. The purchase came during a period of rising attention around the token.

Traders often track Hayes due to his history in crypto markets and his early positioning in fast-growing projects. Essentially, his latest buy added weight to the view that larger players expect further upside.

The move followed other notable activity tied to the Hyperliquid ecosystem. Hyperliquid Strategies, known by the ticker PURR, bought 5 million HYPE for $129.5 million at an average price of $25.9.

That single deal reduced available supply on exchanges and added to buying pressure. At the same time, the Assistance Fund linked to HyperliquidX reached 40.7 million HYPE, valued at about $1.18 billion.

Hyperliquid and Lean Business Model

Beyond whale buying, investors continue to compare Hyperliquid with larger exchanges. A recent comparison of Q3 figures placed Hyperliquid next to Coinbase. While Coinbase reported $295 billion in spot volume and $840 billion in derivatives volume, Hyperliquid posted $50 billion in spot and $995 billion in derivatives volume.

The contrast in team size drew strong reactions. Coinbase employs more than 4,700 people. Hyperliquid operates with a core team of about 14 employees, up from 11 in September 2025.

Despite the gap, Hyperliquid is reported to generate profit close to that of Coinbase. Assets on the platform also show the scale difference. Coinbase holds $516 billion in assets on the platform.

Hyperliquid holds about $7 billion, including $5.8 billion on Hyperliquid and $1.24 billion via Unit. Supporters argue that the lean structure allows Hyperliquid to move faster and keep costs low.

In a market where trading fees drive revenue, margins matter. With derivatives volume already exceeding that of Coinbase, even after Coinbase acquired Deribit in August 2025, the business model has drawn fresh attention.

HYPE in Treasuries and Hyperliquid Price Outlook

Treasury accumulation has become a key theme for Hyperliquid crypto. The Assistance Fund alone holds tens of millions of tokens.

As revenue flows into token purchases, the supply available for open market trading can shrink. When funds and large holders move tokens off exchanges into treasury wallets, it often reduces short-term selling pressure.

Combined with steady revenue of nearly $82 million over 30 days, this structure feeds a cycle where platform activity supports token demand. With more tokens moving into long-term holdings, traders point to tightening floats as a factor behind the recent 6% rise.

When writing, Hyperliquid price was trading at $30.77, up by 8.02% in the past 24 hours. The HYPE token has a fully diluted valuation of around $29 billion. Market watchers expressed that the next breakout catalyst will depend on sustained derivatives volume and continued whale interest.

If revenue remains strong and treasury holdings expand, the supply side could stay tight. For now, Hyperliquid price trades near recent highs, with growing focus on its revenue engine, small-team model, and concentrated holdings.

Whether the rally extends will hinge on volume, fund flows, and the pace of new large-scale purchases in the weeks ahead.
