D-Wave Quantum Inc. has joined the Southeastern Quantum Collaborative as an inaugural member, alongside The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Davidson Technologies, IBM and Alabama A&M University. The collaborative aims to accelerate the advancement and application of quantum information science and technology across the Southeast while developing the quantum-ready workforce needed to commercialize the technology.

Given that Davidson Technologies hosts a D-Wave Advantage2 system at its headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama, D-Wave is positioned to support the SQC’s quantum workforce development efforts. The company is the only dual-platform quantum computing provider, offering both annealing and gate-model systems, software and services. Jack Sears, vice president of government business solutions at D-Wave, emphasized the importance of establishing a globally competitive quantum workforce across the Southeast capable of operationalizing both annealing and gate-model systems for mission-critical applications.

The collaborative brings together academia, industry and government to advance quantum technology across the region. Sears noted that developing this workforce will be decisive in accelerating adoption throughout the Southeast’s public and private sectors. By investing in quantum talent and infrastructure, the Southeast can position itself as a national leader in quantum innovation, advanced manufacturing, energy, logistics, and defense applications.

D-Wave’s participation in the SQC builds on its existing presence in Alabama through Davidson Technologies’ Advantage2 system. The company has established itself as a leader in quantum computing systems, software, and services, becoming the world’s first commercial supplier of quantum computers. More than 100 organizations across commercial, government and research sectors currently use D-Wave technology to address complex computational challenges.

The company offers enterprise-grade systems available on-premises and through its Leap quantum cloud service, which provides 99.9% availability and uptime. Additional information about D-Wave’s quantum computing solutions can be found at https://www.dwavequantum.com. The full press release announcing D-Wave’s participation in the Southeastern Quantum Collaborative is available at https://ibn.fm/Pitiq.

Alabama has historically been a leader in advanced technology development, and the establishment of the SQC represents a strategic effort to extend this leadership into the quantum computing era. The collaborative’s focus on workforce development addresses a critical need as quantum technologies move from research laboratories to practical applications across multiple industries.

3 Paradoxes of Altcoin Season in September

3 Paradoxes of Altcoin Season in September

The post 3 Paradoxes of Altcoin Season in September appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Analyses and data indicate that the crypto market is experiencing its most active altcoin season since early 2025, with many altcoins outperforming Bitcoin. However, behind this excitement lies a paradox. Most retail investors remain uneasy as their portfolios show little to no profit. This article outlines the main reasons behind this situation. Altcoin Market Cap Rises but Dominance Shrinks Sponsored TradingView data shows that the TOTAL3 market cap (excluding BTC and ETH) reached a new high of over $1.1 trillion in September. Yet the share of OTHERS (excluding the top 10) has declined since 2022, now standing at just 8%. OTHERS Dominance And TOTAL3 Capitalization. Source: TradingView. In past cycles, such as 2017 and 2021, TOTAL3 and OTHERS.D rose together. That trend reflected capital flowing not only into large-cap altcoins but also into mid-cap and low-cap ones. The current divergence shows that capital is concentrated in stablecoins and a handful of top-10 altcoins such as SOL, XRP, BNB, DOG, HYPE, and LINK. Smaller altcoins receive far less liquidity, making it hard for their prices to return to levels where investors previously bought. This creates a situation where only a few win while most face losses. Retail investors also tend to diversify across many coins instead of adding size to top altcoins. That explains why many portfolios remain stagnant despite a broader market rally. Sponsored “Position sizing is everything. Many people hold 25–30 tokens at once. A 100x on a token that makes up only 1% of your portfolio won’t meaningfully change your life. It’s better to make a few high-conviction bets than to overdiversify,” analyst The DeFi Investor said. Altcoin Index Surges but Investor Sentiment Remains Cautious The Altcoin Season Index from Blockchain Center now stands at 80 points. This indicates that over 80% of the top 50 altcoins outperformed…
