Independent specialty MGA HIVE Underwriters today announces the appointment of George Stylli as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Stylli brings nearly two decades of London Market technology leadership to the role, marking an important step in HIVE’s investment in top talent, advanced digital infrastructure, and knowledge-led underwriting.

Stylli joins HIVE with extensive experience across the London Market, having held senior technology leadership roles including Head of Engineering and Head of Business Solutions at Lloyd’s Managing Agents over the past 20 years. Throughout his career, he has led the delivery of complex, scalable platforms, modernised underwriting workflows, and driven technology-enabled transformation across multiple specialty insurance classes.

HIVE’s proprietary technology platforms include:

  • HIVE Hub: a class-agnostic specialty underwriting platform designed to support efficient, scalable underwriting operations and integrate with market placement and processing platforms.

  • HIVE Mind: a centralised data and analytics platform providing clear, consistent management information across the business.

  • HIVE Sentinel: a live asset-tracking and exposure-management platform for aviation, enabling real-time monitoring of every aircraft underwritten and delivering data-rich insights to support informed risk management.

Crispin Marsland-Roberts, COO of HIVE Underwriters, said: “Appointing a Chief Technology Officer is a clear signal of where HIVE is headed as we continue to scale and expand across our specialty classes. George brings deep London Market experience and a strong track record of building high-performing technology teams. As we grow, we’re investing in technology and data that genuinely support underwriting performance and make it easier to do business. George’s leadership will be central to how we evolve our use of data, automation and market connectivity, and we’re excited about what comes next.”

George Stylli, Chief Technology Officer at HIVE Underwriters, said: “HIVE is at a really exciting stage in its growth, having built strong momentum in its core classes and recently expanded into areas such as space insurance. What attracted me to the business is the clear intent to put technology, data, and intelligent automation at the heart of underwriting and exposure management, while working seamlessly within the wider London Market ecosystem. I’m excited to help build an agent-first platform that integrates cleanly with market systems, uses AI and advanced analytics to enable faster, smarter risk selection, and supports HIVE’s continued, responsible growth.”
