  • Bitget is already leading the way in encouraging women in the crypto sector.

Leading cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has unveiled the Crypto Anti-Bias Pledge, an initiative aimed at bridging the gender gap that currently exists in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

In its latest announcement, Bitget noted that it will focus on three main action areas, including education and access, equal opportunity, and zero tolerance for harassment in professional and community environments to pursue the latest initiative.

Addressing a Structural Gap

Bitget highlighted the structural gaps existing within the crypto industry with a study that shows that female-led blockchain startups receive only about 6% of total industry funding despite having an average better performance than their male-led counterparts. The firm noted the lopsided participation, comparing it with the near-even ratio in the global population and the expectation that women will control $83 trillion in global wealth by 2030 as part of the largest intergenerational wealth transfer in history.

Bitget CEO and founder of the Blockchain4Her initiative, Gracy Chen, noted that excluding women from the crypto ecosystem reflects a self-imposed ceiling for adoption. According to Chen, markets ultimately reward performance, not perception. She emphasized that leaving out the female population is a limiting factor when trying to address the issue of building the financial infrastructure for the future.

Bitget Leading From the Front

In the meantime, Bitget is driving the Crypto Anti-Bias Pledge through a partnership with UNICEF, supporting programs that provide blockchain and digital skills to 300,000 people, with roughly 90 percent of participants expected to be girls and young women. Meanwhile, the firm stated that the pledge highlights internal benchmarks around merit-based advancement, citing recent internal performance evaluations that revealed several of the highest-scoring employees to be women.

According to Bitget, its programs reflect a culture where progression is determined by measurable results rather than background or identity. It further stated that the initiative emphasizes the importance of safe and respectful professional environments, noting that 40% of senior management positions at Bitget are held by women.
