New performance data shows how ChangeNOW swap speed is reshaping expectations around execution times in the non-custodial exchange segment.

ChangeNOW pushes settlement below one minute

ChangeNOW is tightening its grip on the non-custodial swap market, with fresh benchmark figures confirming median settlement times of under one minute. Moreover, the new data highlights a dramatic gap with the wider industry, where the median still hovers at roughly 45 minutes per transaction.

Seven months ago, the platform was already ahead of rivals. In mid-2025, Swapzone published a speed benchmark that clocked ChangeNOW at a median of roughly 1.8 minutes per swap, enough to secure first place among eight tested platforms. However, the nearest competitor, Changelly, came in at around two minutes, while the rest of the field lagged even further behind.

Today, that lead has grown from a narrow edge to a structural advantage that looks more like a chasm than a gap.

New 2026 data from Swapzone

In its 2026 follow-up report, titled “Speed Benchmarks: Non-Custodial Swaps Comparison 2026”, Swapzone analyzed 150,000 completed transactions. The report paints a picture of a non-custodial swap industry still wrestling with delays that ChangeNOW seems to have largely overcome. That said, the findings also underline how sensitive execution remains to on-chain congestion and liquidity conditions.

For a standard USDT-to-ETH swap, the current market median settlement time sits at 45 minutes. By contrast, ChangeNOW clears the same pair in under 60 seconds on a median basis. The result is not a marginal improvement but roughly a 45x speed advantage compared with the prevailing industry norm.

According to Swapzone, this outperformance persists even during busier market phases, suggesting that the swap settlement times advantage is rooted in how ChangeNOW structures its internal routing and liquidity access, rather than in temporary market conditions.

Why execution time matters for traders

Crypto markets move quickly, and every extra minute a transaction remains in processing is a minute during which the price can slip away from the user. Moreover, a trader who fixes a rate and then waits 45 minutes for settlement is no longer trading in the market they believed they had entered when they confirmed the swap.

The longer this exposure window, the greater the distance between the amount quoted at confirmation and the amount that finally arrives in the destination wallet. That said, when execution is compressed to under a minute, that risk window narrows sharply, and effective price slippage tends to fall in practical terms.

For this reason, ChangeNOW swap speed has become a central part of the platform’s value proposition, as it directly influences how closely final outcomes track initial quotes in volatile conditions.

Infrastructure and liquidity routing as a differentiator

ChangeNOW has approached the latency problem at the infrastructure layer. The exchange has optimized its liquidity routing specifically to compress the execution window from the moment a user initiates the trade to the moment funds land in their wallet. Moreover, this design aims to maintain consistency even across heavily traded pairs.

On high-volume markets such as SOL/USDT and ETH/USDT, the platform is consistently completing swaps before most competitors have even fully confirmed the incoming deposit. In practice, this means ChangeNOW is often several blocks ahead in terms of settlement progress, while other services are still processing initial transaction recognition.

This focus on crypto swap latency and routing efficiency has effectively turned speed into a core competitive advantage rather than a secondary metric, especially for active traders and arbitrage-focused users.

Speed as a foundation for user trust

“At ChangeNOW, we consider speed to be a fundamental pillar of user trust,” said Pauline Shangett, the company’s Chief Strategy Officer. She added that the objective is to remove latency as a barrier between traders and their funds and to make near-instant settlement the new baseline standard for the non-custodial exchange industry.

This framing, which treats speed as a trust mechanism instead of a mere convenience, is reinforced by the benchmark data. When a swap settles in around 60 seconds, there is almost no practical window for the market to move meaningfully against the user. Moreover, the rate displayed at confirmation tends, in real-world terms, to match what finally arrives.

As non-custodial platforms compete on experience, ChangeNOW’s performance suggests that rapid settlement may become a defining characteristic of leading services, especially as more users demand execution that mirrors real-time market conditions.

In summary, the latest benchmarks show ChangeNOW widening its speed lead in non-custodial swaps, translating infrastructure and routing choices into tangible benefits for traders who need fast, predictable settlement.

The post Taiko Makes Chainlink Data Streams Its Official Oracle appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Key Notes Taiko has officially integrated Chainlink Data Streams for its Layer 2 network. The integration provides developers with high-speed market data to build advanced DeFi applications. The move aims to improve security and attract institutional adoption by using Chainlink’s established infrastructure. Taiko, an Ethereum-based ETH $4 514 24h volatility: 0.4% Market cap: $545.57 B Vol. 24h: $28.23 B Layer 2 rollup, has announced the integration of Chainlink LINK $23.26 24h volatility: 1.7% Market cap: $15.75 B Vol. 24h: $787.15 M Data Streams. The development comes as the underlying Ethereum network continues to see significant on-chain activity, including large sales from ETH whales. The partnership establishes Chainlink as the official oracle infrastructure for the network. It is designed to provide developers on the Taiko platform with reliable and high-speed market data, essential for building a wide range of decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, from complex derivatives platforms to more niche projects involving unique token governance models. According to the project’s official announcement on Sept. 17, the integration enables the creation of more advanced on-chain products that require high-quality, tamper-proof data to function securely. Taiko operates as a “based rollup,” which means it leverages Ethereum validators for transaction sequencing for strong decentralization. Boosting DeFi and Institutional Interest Oracles are fundamental services in the blockchain industry. They act as secure bridges that feed external, off-chain information to on-chain smart contracts. DeFi protocols, in particular, rely on oracles for accurate, real-time price feeds. Taiko leadership stated that using Chainlink’s infrastructure aligns with its goals. The team hopes the partnership will help attract institutional crypto investment and support the development of real-world applications, a goal that aligns with Chainlink’s broader mission to bring global data on-chain. Integrating real-world economic information is part of a broader industry trend. Just last week, Chainlink partnered with the Sei…
