The post Netflix’s ‘One Piece’ Season 2 Release Date Is Here, Plus A Cast List appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. It is very difficult to please fans of one of the most famous animes of all time with a live-action adaptation, but One Piece somehow managed to do just that when it debuted in August 2023. Now, it has a release date for season 2, two and a half years after that. After a lot of early promotion for the season, Netflix has announced that One Piece Season 2: Into the Grand Line will arrive on March 10, 2026. That’s a gap of two and a half years, which is pushing it even for a streaming production, as the space between seasons usually ranges from 1.5 to 3 years these days. But 2.5-3 years is pretty rare, even for big shows. One Piece is a big show with a lot of elaborate sets and CGI work, so it would take longer than most. There is a zero percent chance Netflix gets through the entire, hilariously enormous source material, which has 1,100 episodes since 1999. No, that is not a typo. Netflix will have to figure out an extremely abridged arc for it, and it appears they are pushing forward to make that happen. Season 3 of One Piece was greenlit a long time ago, so no matter what happens with season 2, it’s going to return for more. Again, it is really rare that a live-action adaptation pleases fans, but One Piece season 1 racked up a 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is as high as most of Netflix’s high-scored animated series, of which it has plenty. Here’s the synopsis of season 2: “Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line — a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. Netflix’s ‘One Piece’ Season 2 Release Date Is Here, Plus A Cast List

Here’s the synopsis of season 2:

The cast list for all the new characters has been rolled out over time, and (buckle up) among the major characters are:

  • Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper
  • Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday (Princess Vivi)
  • Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha
  • Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk
  • Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra (Vivi’s father)
  • Callum Kerr as Smoker
  • Julia Rehwald as Tashigi
  • Rob Colletti as Wapol
  • Ty Keogh as Dalton
  • David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3
  • Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine
  • Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5
  • Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9
  • Clive Russell as Crocus
  • Werner Coetser as Dorry
  • Brendan Murray as Brogy
  • Rigo Sanchez as Dragon
  • Yonda Thomas as Igaram
  • James Hiroyuki Liao as Ipponmatsu
  • Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek
  • Anton David Jeftha as Kuromarimo (K.M.)
  • Mark Penwill as Chess

Most of those names you would not recognize, but a few stand out to me. Mikaela Hoover recently had a role as Kat Grant in Superman. Katey Segal was a big star in Sons of Anarchy. Of course, I remember Sendhil Ramamurthy from Heroes. But I’d argue the biggest name here is David Dastmalchian, who has appeared in Dexter Resurrection, Murderbot, Oppenheimer, Dune and The Suicide Squad in the last couple years alone. Maybe you don’t know the name, but you’d know him if you saw him. See below.

How do you even fit that many characters, including the existing cast, into one season? I have no idea, but we’re about to find out March 10, 2026.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…

Italy passes law on AI outlining privacy and child access

The post Italy passes law on AI outlining privacy and child access appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Italy has formally passed a sweeping new law to regulate artificial intelligence, becoming the first member of the European Union to roll out comprehensive legislation in step with the bloc’s landmark AI Act. The Italian Senate granted final approval after a year of debate, concluding what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s government described as a decisive step in shaping how new technologies are deployed across the country. Italy sets tough penalties for offenders The legislation, ministers argue, lays out the boundaries for human-centric, transparent, and safe use of AI while balancing the need to foster innovation, cybersecurity, and economic growth. The law casts its net widely, and it stretches into healthcare, schools, the justice system, workplaces, sport, and the public sector. AI access for children under 14 has also been tightened, and it now requires parental consent. “This law brings innovation back within the perimeter of the public interest, steering AI toward growth, rights and full protection of citizens.” Alessio Butti, the undersecretary for digital transformation. Lawmakers also opted for a hard line on abuses. A new offence has been added to the criminal code covering the unlawful spread of AI-generated or manipulated content, such as deepfakes. Anyone found guilty faces between one and five years in prison if their actions cause harm. Using AI to commit fraud, identity theft, market manipulation, or money laundering will now be treated as an aggravating circumstance, raising potential sentences by a third. Judges remain the sole authority in legal rulings, though courts are empowered to demand rapid takedowns of illicit material. Government agencies to oversee its implementation Responsibility for enforcing the regime lies with the Agency for Digital Italy and the National Cybersecurity Agency, though existing financial watchdogs such as the Bank of Italy and Consob retain powers in their own spheres. The Department…
