PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a couple to assist with investigations into the discovery of a newborn baby’s body at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur.
Cheras police chief Rosdi Daud said police received a report from the TBS management about the baby’s body which was found in a blue plastic bag in the women’s toilet on Level 3 of the terminal.
“Preliminary investigations found that both unemployed suspects admitted involvement in the case,” he said in a statement today.
“The female suspect is believed to have given birth in the toilet before disposing of the baby in a rubbish bin out of fear of being reprimanded by her family.”
The couple was remanded for four days from June 13 to 16 to facilitate further investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing a birth by secretly disposing of a body.
