PANews reported on January 10th that, according to The Verge, a Reddit post showed that a financial app called Betterment sent users a suspicious notification asking them to send $10,000 to their Bitcoin and Ethereum cryptocurrency wallets, promising to "triple your cryptocurrency." Betterment officials stated that this was an "unauthorized message" sent through a "third-party system," emphasizing that there was no such activity and advising users to ignore the notification.
