Trump supporter who threatened judge and went on the run was just tracked down: reporter

A Trump supporter who admitted to threatening a judge has been tracked down — and has begun serving a prison sentence in Texas, CBS justice correspondent Scott MacFarlane reported on Wednesday morning.

Abigail Shry, MacFarlane noted, is "the only person" connected to the Trump election conspiracy case who actually faced jail time. She admitted in 2023 to making violent, racist threats against a federal judge in Washington, as well as "politically motivated, vulgar threats" in Texas.

However, Shry went missing on the eve of the day she was due to report to prison in February to begin a two-year sentence, apparently having fled.

"The court had to intervene and issue an arrest warrant," noted MacFarlane. And finally, she has been tracked down and is at a prison in Houston.

"Abigail Shry was one of a kind in her criminal case," said MacFarlane, since, because her threats against a judge were unrelated to January 6 plotting, she was not spared by Trump's blanket pardon, either. That said, she is far from the only one involved in Trump's election conspiracies who is "defiant" of law enforcement.

Texas officials have said she will face new charges for trying to evade reporting to prison, MacFarlane added.
