PANews reported on March 18th that, according to The Block, Layer 1 blockchain Injective announced support for native USDC issuance and integration with Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), enabling direct transfers of USDC between supported blockchains. This integration allows USDC to be natively issued on Injective, rather than through a bridged version. Users can transfer USDC between Injective and other networks without relying on encapsulated assets or third-party bridges. CCTP mitigates bridging-related risks by burning USDC on the source chain and minting an equivalent amount of USDC on the target chain.
