Is AI Smarter than you (Human)

How can AI be smarter than its creator, all the information it has is provided by a human understanding, input and creation.

It is understand able that AI may be smarter then some single humans, somewhere in time as we all havent evolved the same leave and have differnt levels of mastery in differnet aspects of life.

But AI cannot be smarter then us, correct? All of us? As whatever the information it is using to reply is given by a human or a device (inventoed by a human) to recored the information that we released, explained, understood enough to measure and inveting a device to automaticly measure and record.
