Trump seems eager to ignore 'major political problem' hiding under his nose: analyst

President Donald Trump seems to be eagerly ignoring a major political problem right under his nose, according to one political analyst.

David Pakman, host of the liberal "David Pakman Show" on YouTube, said in a new reaction video on Sunday that Trump's handling of the U.S. economy could come back to bite him and the Republican Party as the midterms approach. Pakman argued that the economy was the central reason why so many people voted for Trump in the first place, and his seeming reluctance to acknowledge the economic challenges many Americans face could prove disastrous.

"People are charging more on their credit cards, not because things are going so well, but because prices are up and people can't afford to pay a lot of these things off every single month," Pakman noted. "And so this is a major political problem."

Pakman added that the constant barrage of false and misleading information about the economy from Trump officials doesn't help matters.

"People didn't vote for Trump because what they wanted was a slate of cronies and lap dogs telling them how great the economy is," he added. "They voted for him because they wanted and believed that things were going to cost less. And those are very different things."

Since Trump took office, the price of gasoline and groceries has skyrocketed, according to reports. Meanwhile, Trump has said he "doesn't care about the midterms" or the financial issues Americans face as his administration continues its war with Iran.
