Speed Meets Innovation at Techfest, IIT Bombay: Three International Racing Championships Take Center Stage

Mumbai, India, 26th December 2025, ZEX PR WIRETechfest, IIT Bombay, Asia’s largest science and technology festival, presented by Marsh McLennan and powered by IDFC First Bank, proudly announces an electrifying line-up of international racing competitions that push the boundaries of speed, autonomy, and next-generation innovation.

Marking its highly anticipated 29th edition, Techfest, IIT Bombay is set to host three flagship global racing events — International RoboRacer, International Full Throttle, and The International Drone Racing League — bringing together the world’s brightest engineering minds, elite racers, and cutting-edge technologies on one grand platform. These competitions collectively showcase the future of autonomous mobility, high-performance RC racing, and aerial robotics, reinforcing Techfest’s position as a global hub for technological excellence and student-driven innovation.

International RoboRacer

For the first time ever, Techfest, IIT Bombay hosts the International RoboRacer Autonomous Racing Competition in collaboration with the RoboRacer Foundation. This pioneering global challenge stands at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, and autonomous mobility. Teams from across the world will design, build, and program 1:10 scale autonomous race cars capable of navigating a high-speed circuit entirely without human intervention. The competition emphasizes advanced perception systems, real-time decision-making algorithms, and robust control strategies, making it one of the most technically demanding autonomous racing events ever hosted in India.

International Full Throttle

Recognized as India’s largest and most celebrated RC nitro buggy racing competition, International Full Throttle returns to Techfest with unmatched intensity. What began over a decade ago as a national-level contest has evolved into a globally acclaimed motorsport spectacle. Participants will unleash roaring nitro-powered buggies on the challenging Full Throttle circuit, where precision engineering, tuning expertise, and razor-sharp driving skills determine victory. The event continues to attract international teams and motorsport enthusiasts, delivering adrenaline-packed racing action for competitors and spectators alike.

International Drone Racing League

The International Drone Racing League makes a high-speed comeback at Techfest, IIT Bombay, promising one of the most thrilling aerial racing experiences in the country. Participants design and build their own FPV (First Person View) drones to compete head-to-head against top international pilots. High-speed drones will tear through a meticulously crafted obstacle course engineered to test agility, control, and technical precision, pushing both pilots and machines to their absolute limits.

In addition to world-class competitions, Techfest 2025–26 will feature keynote talks, technology exhibitions, innovation showcases, and immersive experiences, making it a landmark celebration of science, engineering excellence, and global collaboration for students, professionals, and technology enthusiasts worldwide.

Beyond these flagship racing events, Techfest, IIT Bombay will host 25+ competitions spanning finance, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics, motorsports, and other emerging technologies. With a cumulative prize pool exceeding ₹65+ lakh, the festival offers an unparalleled opportunity for students, innovators, and professionals to compete, collaborate, and gain global recognition.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
