MAGA legend strikes back at 'rotting husk' Trump after president launches attack on allies

MAGA conspiracy theorist Alex Jones responded to Donald Trump's recent attacks, calling the president a "rotting husk" of what he once was.

Jones, who built his media empire partly through unwavering support of Trump, recently announced his withdrawal from the MAGA movement in a sharp rebuke of the current administration. In response, the president unleashed on Jones, as well as other top MAGA figures, saying they have "low IQs" because they disagreed with him about the Iran war.

Late Thursday, Jones said he was glad the president attacked him.
"I have made it very clear that I no longer support Trump and I'm very thankful to him for making it clear that I have nothing to do with him," Jones stated. "The new Trump is a rotting husk of the old Trump."

The commentator's pivot marks a significant fracture within Trump's once-loyal base of conspiracy-minded supporters. Jones, whose media platform Infowars has long promoted far-right conspiracy theories, had been among Trump's most vocal defenders during his first term and 2024 campaign.

Jones took aim at Trump's current circle of advisors, sarcastically suggesting the president now surrounds himself with figures like Mark Levin. "I hope 47 enjoys Mark Levine being his spirit animal," Jones wrote.

The split reflects broader tensions within Trump's coalition as his presidency faces mounting criticism from unexpected quarters. Trump's recent military actions in Iran and other policy decisions have alienated some of his most committed supporters, signaling potential cracks in his political foundation.
