Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei will meet White House chief of staff Susie Wiles on Friday. The meeting follows a dispute between Anthropic and the Pentagon over AI access. The administration is reviewing Anthropic’s Claude model, Mythos, during ongoing legal and policy tensions.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei will enter the West Wing for talks with Susie Wiles. The meeting comes as the company challenges its Pentagon blacklist in federal court. Axios first reported the scheduled discussion earlier this week.

The Pentagon barred Anthropic after the company refused unrestricted AI use. Anthropic set limits against mass domestic surveillance and autonomous weapons systems. The company has defended these limits since its founding in 2021.
Anthropic filed suit after the blacklist took effect. However, a federal appeals court rejected its request to pause the restriction. The broader legal case continues in parallel with political outreach.
Anthropic also hired Ballard Partners to support its position in Washington. The firm holds ties to Trump’s political network and advisers. The lobbying effort runs alongside the company’s court challenge.
The Trump administration is assessing the Claude model called Mythos. Anthropic designed Mythos to focus on cybersecurity risks across software systems. Officials are reviewing its technical reach and operational limits.
Mythos can scan large code bases and flag severe vulnerabilities. It can also map how attackers might exploit those weaknesses. In many cases, the system operates with limited human input.
Several US agencies have begun testing the model. Elements of the intelligence community and CISA have reviewed its performance. The Treasury Department has also expressed interest in the system.
The Treasury Secretary described Mythos as a “step function change in abilities” at a Wall Street Journal event. That comment prompted an emergency meeting with Wall Street CEOs. Officials also briefed Vice President Vance and Elon Musk on cyber risks.
Anthropic has maintained firm policy lines in its government dealings. The company will not allow its systems to support domestic mass surveillance. It also refuses to power fully autonomous weapons platforms.
Company leaders say these commitments define its identity and governance model. A group of former OpenAI researchers founded Anthropic in 2021 over safety concerns. Those principles continue to shape its federal negotiations.
Despite the lawsuit, agencies continue to limit Mythos testing. Officials have evaluated its ability to detect zero-day vulnerabilities in operating systems and browsers. The White House meeting marks Amodei’s second high-level encounter this year.
Friday’s discussion may address both legal and operational issues. However, neither Anthropic nor the White House has released an official agenda. The meeting will take place later today in Washington, according to Axios.
