Cagayan schools offered training in cyber hygiene

THE Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) said it signed two agreements with schools in Cagayan province to provide training in cybersecurity readiness.

In a statement on Monday, the PCCI Human Resources Development Foundation (PCCIHRDF) said it signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 14 to provide cyber hygiene training at seven schools in the province.

The training is designed to help students safely navigate the digital landscape and avoid online threats.

Schools participating in the training are Aparri Polytechnic Institute, Cagayan State University, University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao, Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines, International School of Asia and the Pacific, and University of Cagayan Valley.

The cyber hygiene training comes amid the increasing vulnerability of  data for misuse, PCCI said.

The chamber also signed a separate MoU with the Cagayan National High School to implement its flagship PCCI Education and Training System.

The initiative seeks to combine in-school learning with structured in-company immersion to help make students workforce-ready. Cagayan National High School will serve as the pilot partner in the province, PCCI said.
