Met Gala hit with crude anti-Bezos protests

Protests erupted at the Met Gala on Monday, which was hosted by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, according to reports.

The Met Gala is an annual, invite-only fundraiser that supports New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. It is often considered one of the biggest nights in fashion, and the event is regularly attended by celebrities, Hollywood folks, athletes, and entertainers.

The New York Post reported on Monday that some protesters stashed hundreds of vials filled with what the outlet assumed to be urine throughout the venue. The Post noted that the bottles appeared to be a nod to accusations that Amazon warehouse workers feel forced to pee in bottles, rather than take bathroom breaks.

The group that staged the urine-filled protest, called Everyone Hates Elon, said in a statement that "Amazon founder and oligarch Jeff Bezos just finished his Met Gala pre-party at his penthouse and is getting ready for the big night."

Outside the venue, protesters also staged a "Resistance Red Carpet" protest, strutting down a makeshift runway in costumes.

Some of the outfits included the phrase "eat the rich," while some people dressed in drag and others held signs ridiculing the "Epstein class."
