President Donald Trump's administration is doubling down on its threat to target "secular" and "pro-transgender" groups.
In the 2026 U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy released on Tuesday, Trump insisted that he was "once again putting America First."

"As part of my commitment to defending America from all enemies, foreign and domestic, we are once again working to crush the threat of terrorism," the president wrote.
The paper went on to single out what it called "violent secular political groups."
"In addition to cartels and Islamist terror groups, our national CT activities will also prioritize the rapid identification and neutralization of violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist," the document said. "We will use all the tools constitutionally available to us to map them at home, identify their membership, map their ties to international organizations like Antifa, and use law enforcement tools to cripple them operationally before they can maim or kill the innocent."
