These Republicans are already sweating Trump's wrath as revenge tour rolls on

President Donald Trump intends to punish another round of Republican lawmakers he believes have been insufficiently loyal.

The 79-year-old president, fresh off a string of GOP primary wins this spring that knocked off his enemies and reaffirmed his control over the party, is looking to bake in MAGA's influence beyond the end of his second term by targeting other Republicans for revenge, reported Axios.

"Do not ever doubt President Trump and his political power. F--- around, find out," White House communications director Steven Cheung posted on X after the Trump-endorsed Ed Gallrein took down Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).

Massie infuriated the president by successfully pushing for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, and Trump targeted Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) after she campaigned with the Kentucky Republican on Saturday, the same day Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) lost his three-way primary to a Trump-backed challenger and another GOP candidate.

"Trump took to Truth Social over the weekend to solicit a primary challenger to Boebert, whom he called 'weak-minded' and 'very difficult,'" Axios reported.

Trump was furious that Boebert had campaigned for Massie, and she resisted strong pressure from the White House against supporting a discharge petition compelling the release of the Epstein files. Axios reported that the president was considering whether to oppose Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), who also pushed for their release, in a fiercely competitive June 9 gubernatorial primary.

The president is also targeting another Massie ally, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who shares the vanquished congressman's libertarian mores, voted against Trump's "big, beautiful bill" and criticized his decision to attack Iran.

Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH), who had supported Massie's re-election bid, is another House Republican who could be targeted by the White House, and Trump has vented his frustration against Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) for voting "against me all the time."

"You know what happens with that?" Trump warned Fitzpatrick on Wednesday. "It doesn't work out well."

Massie and Fitzpatrick, who represent a swing district won by Kamala Harris, were the only two GOP House members to vote against the tax and spending bill last summer, and the Pennsylvania Republican has spoken out against Trump's request for up to $220 million to build a White House ballroom.

"Trump is increasingly confident he can boot anyone who crosses him, and he has the backing of a sophisticated and well-funded political operation that he lacked during his first term," Axios reported. "Trump's anti-Massie super PAC was led by Chris LaCivita and Tony Fabrizio, who were senior advisers on his 2024 campaign."
