In this role, Sbaschnig will lead Newport’s operating and technology strategy, with a focus on building scalable infrastructure to support Newport’s partner companies. Her responsibilities will include technology enablement, data and reporting, workflow improvement, compliance support, and helping Newport’s partner MGAs pursue growth while maintaining the specialized underwriting focus that made the program successful.

“Mary brings exactly the combination of insurance operating experience, technology expertise, and practical MGA knowledge that we want at Newport,” said Dennis DiCapua, Chief Executive Officer of Newport Specialty Partners. “She understands how underwriting businesses actually operate, how technology can improve decision-making and efficiency, and how to build the infrastructure needed to support disciplined growth. Mary’s leadership will be instrumental in strengthening the capabilities that support our partner companies while preserving the entrepreneurial culture and underwriting discipline that define Newport.”

“I am excited to join Newport at such an important stage in its development,” said Mary Sbaschnig, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer of Newport Specialty Partners. “What makes Newport especially compelling is its approach to partnering with strong specialty insurance businesses and providing the operational support and strategic resources needed to help them grow while maintaining the qualities that differentiate them. I look forward to working with Dennis, the Newport team, and our partner companies as we continue building a platform that is thoughtful, disciplined, and positioned for the long term.”

Sbaschnig joins Newport with more than three decades of experience building scalable operating platforms, improving underwriting workflows, integrating systems, and supporting profitable specialty insurance growth. Most recently, Sbaschnig served as Vice President of Solutions Architecture at Vertafore, where she led a team focused on delivering implementation, configuration, operational consulting, and technology solutions to large-scale MGA and insurance distribution partners. Her work focused on improving solution adoption, underwriting efficiency, distribution support, and long-term operating performance.

Prior to Vertafore, Sbaschnig held senior leadership roles at I-Centric Solutions, Delos Insurance Group, and Clarendon National Insurance Company, with a focus on operational efficiency, technology innovation, and product development.
