The post Company Behind XRP Launches Ripple Prime appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Ripple has launched a digital asset spot prime brokerage for U.S. institutional clients, marking a major step in its expansion into broader financial services following the acquisition of multi-asset prime broker Hidden Road earlier this year, the company said in a press release Monday. The new platform, Ripple Prime, now enables over-the-counter (OTC) spot trading for dozens of major digital assets, including XRP and Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, as part of an integrated suite that also includes derivatives, swaps, fixed income, and foreign exchange products. “The launch of OTC spot execution capabilities complements our existing suite of OTC and cleared derivatives services in digital assets and positions us to provide U.S. institutions with a comprehensive offering to suit their trading needs,” said Michael Higgins, international CEO of Ripple Prime, in the release. Ripple completed its acquisition of Hidden Road in October 2025, combining its regulatory licenses with Hidden Road’s prime brokerage infrastructure. The move allows U.S. clients to cross-margin OTC spot positions alongside swaps and CME-listed futures and options, giving institutions more flexibility in managing their digital asset portfolios. The expansion comes as Ripple continues to deepen its institutional crypto services, which now span payments, custody, and trading. Ripple Prime joins Ripple Payments, which uses blockchain technology to facilitate cross-border transactions, and Ripple Custody, a secure storage platform for digital assets. Ripple’s native crypto assets, XRP and RLUSD, are integrated across these offerings to enhance liquidity and streamline settlement for institutional participants. Ripple’s XRP token was 4% lower at publication time, trading around $2.425. ASIC Grants Stablecoin Distributors Regulatory Exemption in Australia

The post ASIC Grants Stablecoin Distributors Regulatory Exemption in Australia appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Key Points:ASIC grants class relief for stablecoin intermediaries.Streamlines regulatory compliance for industry intermediaries.Potential for increased institutional stablecoin activity. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) granted a regulatory exemption on September 18 for stablecoin intermediaries, allowing distribution without separate financial services licenses within Australia. This exemption provides regulatory clarity, reducing compliance costs, and potentially increasing institutional stablecoin activity under AFS-licensed issuers, signaling upcoming broader reforms in Australia’s digital asset space. ASIC Exempts Stablecoin Providers from Additional Licensing ASIC has provided class exemption for stablecoin intermediaries, allowing them to distribute cryptocurrencies issued by licensed Australian institutions without needing separate financial services licenses. This measure helps address Australia’s regulatory challenges in the stablecoin sector. Intermediaries can now distribute stablecoins through licensed channels without additional AFS licenses, lowering operational barriers. The relief maintains issuer liability while mandating product disclosure to ensure transparency in the market. “The first-of-its-kind relief exempts intermediaries from the requirement to hold separate AFS, Australian market, or clearing and settlement facility licences when providing services related to stablecoins issued by an AFS licensee.” — ASIC Official Statement, Australian Securities and Investments CommissionBlockchain APAC CEO Steve Vallas described this move as a temporary transition toward broader reforms. Official reports emphasize that the exemption does not alter stablecoin classification as financial products. Potential Market Reforms and Global Impact Did you know?
