ForbesExperts Discuss The Future Of AI Gymnastics Judging

Reportedly, the third ‘miss’ occurred shortly after the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.

After multiple uncharacteristic mistakes at the competition, Moldauer was not named to the five-person main team. The gymnast alluded that the USADA violation stemmed from his adverse reaction to the outcome.

“I was processing the disappointment of missing out on my second Olympic Games.”

Today, he celebrates. Moldauer anxiously awaited today’s milestone, posting repeatedly on social media with a countdown anticipating today’s date.

The 29-year-old has been a staple in U.S. men’s gymnastics for the past three Olympic cycles and was the U.S. National Champion in 2017. Internationally, he has been one of the United States’ most successful gymnasts as of late, earning two World bronze medals and eight Pan American Championship medals.

After the U.S. men’s team achieved historic results at October’s world championships, Moldauer’s return to the U.S. National Team will only strengthen arguably the strongest American men’s gymnastics program to date.

“This setback does not define me,” the Olympian said in January. “My focus remains on rebuilding trust, stayed dedicated to the sport I love, and working tirelessly to represent Team USA at the LA 2028 Olympics.”
