Ethereum News: Vitalik Says: Build on Ethereum L1 in 2025

Cofounder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, asserts that no developer will need to worry about Layer 1 in 2025 because transaction fees are dirt cheap all the time with optimization.

Recently, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin made a somewhat radical statement. He informed developers that they are able to build directly on Layer 1. The comment was posted on December 1, 2025, using his X account.

Vitalik Buterin on X writes that you can simply build on L1. This announcement came out of the blue to most people in the crypto world. It questions the new trend to Layer 2 solutions.

Why Ethereum Fees Dropped to Dirt Cheap Levels

In 2025, Ethereum transaction costs will be down to a minimum. On X, Evan Van Ness wrote that the fees are lower than dirt. He observed that the trend has been maintained over 2025.

Optimizations of the clients’ reduced fees sharply. Storage was also improved as hard drives became cheaper. This resulted in the rise in the gas limit.

The gas limit will keep increasing as Evan Van Ness explained on X, and it keeps the fees on the transactions low. He encouraged the community to go back to the mainnet. The message appealed to developers who wanted to have simpler solutions.

Proto-danksharding was added to Ethereum through EIP-4844. This upgrade lowered the cost of data to rollups. The Proof-of-Stake transition in Ethereum enhanced even greater scalability.

Reduced on-chain activity played a role in reduced fees. The reduced demand spurred the cost of transaction stability. L1 deployment barriers are now low to developers.

L2 Growth Creates New Questions for ETH

Radical growth was witnessed in layer 2 networks. This growth was emphasised by the DeFinvestor, which mentioned that L2s had more than 11 times the number of transactions daily.

TheDeFinvestor on X says that the surge occurred in the last 3 years. Yet, there arose a critical question out of this growth. How does ETH extract value in L2 activity?

There are benefits of layer 2 solutions. They offer even lower prices than L1. Increased throughput is also a major advantage.

However, the statement by Vitalik changes the story. When L1 fees remain low, the complexities of L2 are optional. Most of the projects may opt to deploy to the mainnet.

The future of Ethereum is a topic of discussion in the crypto community. To some, L1 viability is progress. The others are concerned about the sustainability of the L2 project.

In 2025, developers have a critical decision to make. They are able to develop on low-cost Layer 1. Or they could use L2 to its best advantage.

The better scalability of Ethereum is a turning point. The network accomplished what appeared impossible years ago. Mainnet low fees are here to stay.

The post Is Doge Losing Steam As Traders Choose Pepeto For The Best Crypto Investment? appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Crypto News 17 September 2025 | 17:39 Is dogecoin really fading? As traders hunt the best crypto to buy now and weigh 2025 picks, Dogecoin (DOGE) still owns the meme coin spotlight, yet upside looks capped, today’s Dogecoin price prediction says as much. Attention is shifting to projects that blend culture with real on-chain tools. Buyers searching “best crypto to buy now” want shipped products, audits, and transparent tokenomics. That frames the true matchup: dogecoin vs. Pepeto. Enter Pepeto (PEPETO), an Ethereum-based memecoin with working rails: PepetoSwap, a zero-fee DEX, plus Pepeto Bridge for smooth cross-chain moves. By fusing story with tools people can use now, and speaking directly to crypto presale 2025 demand, Pepeto puts utility, clarity, and distribution in front. In a market where legacy meme coin leaders risk drifting on sentiment, Pepeto’s execution gives it a real seat in the “best crypto to buy now” debate. First, a quick look at why dogecoin may be losing altitude. Dogecoin Price Prediction: Is Doge Really Fading? Remember when dogecoin made crypto feel simple? In 2013, DOGE turned a meme into money and a loose forum into a movement. A decade on, the nonstop momentum has cooled; the backdrop is different, and the market is far more selective. With DOGE circling ~$0.268, the tape reads bearish-to-neutral for the next few weeks: hold the $0.26 shelf on daily closes and expect choppy range-trading toward $0.29–$0.30 where rallies keep stalling; lose $0.26 decisively and momentum often bleeds into $0.245 with risk of a deeper probe toward $0.22–$0.21; reclaim $0.30 on a clean daily close and the downside bias is likely neutralized, opening room for a squeeze into the low-$0.30s.
