PANews reported on December 6th that the Pakistani Ministry of Finance convened a high-level consultation meeting on a national digital asset framework, co-chaired by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (PVARA) Chairman Bilal bin Saqib. Senior leaders from the State Bank of Pakistan, presidents of major Pakistani banks, and Binance executives (including Global CEO Richard Teng) participated in the discussions. The meeting focused on next steps Pakistan can take to build a secure, transparent, and innovation-driven digital asset ecosystem, including launching deposit and withdrawal infrastructure, strengthening compliance and anti-money laundering/counter-terrorist financing standards, and increasing transparency in digital markets.
