MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed former Philippine National Police chief Nicolas Torre III as the new general manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, replacing Procopio Lipana.
Malacañang confirmed Torre’s new position on Friday, December 19.
Marcos named Torre PNP chief in May, but his tenure was cut short after he was removed in August, serving for nearly three months as head of the national police.
He was the police general behind the high-profile arrests of former president Rodrigo Duterte in March, and alleged trafficker Apollo Quiboloy in September 2024. – with reports from Jairo Bolledo/Rappler.com
