The College Football Playoff National Championship featuring Indiana vs. Miami at Hard Rock Stadium on Mon., Jan. 19 is currently seeing “record-setting demand.”

That’s according to SeatGeek’s Chris Leyden (Director of Marketing), who tells me the latest data is “a big step up” from the prices historically seen for the College Football Playoff, which first began with the 2014 season.

“The combination of a potential history-making win for Indiana and proximity for Miami fans has created a significant spike in interest in the game,” Leyden says of Indiana vs. Miami, the most in-demand college football game that SeatGeek has ever tracked. “Ticket prices are currently closer to those of recent Super Bowls.”

If the No. 1 Hoosiers (15-0) defeat the No. 10 Hurricanes (13-2), it will be Indiana’s first-ever National Championship in football. Meanwhile, Miami is vying to win its sixth title in the sport, with its most recent championship occurring in 2001.

CFP National Championship Game Ticket Prices

As of Jan. 14, the average resale price on SeatGeek was $5,004 (includes fees), according to data provided to me by the secondary ticketing platform.

That figure is up over $1,500 from last year’s National Championship where Ohio State beat Notre Dame 34-23 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta — the average resale price on SeatGeek ended up at $3,445. Between 2022-2024, the average resale price for the National Championship didn’t surpass $2,500, per SeatGeek.

Meanwhile, the get-in price, or the cheapest available ticket on SeatGeek to watch Indiana vs. Miami, was $3,042 as of Wednesday. The most popular states based on ticket purchases include Florida (37%), followed by Indiana (10%) and Illinois (6%) to round out the top three locations. Ohio and Texas each came in at 4%.

Betting Odds For The National Championship

The Hoosiers are currently 8.5-point favorites against the Hurricanes, according to the latest betting lines on the FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under for Indiana vs. Miami is 47.5 points. ESPN’s matchup predictor gives the Hoosiers about a 68% chance of winning the game.

Hoosier redshirt junior quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who won the Heisman Trophy in December, is the heavy favorite (-270) to win the National Championship Game Offensive MVP Award, per FanDuel’s odds.
