MANILA, Philippines – Video platform Vimeo, which was acquired by Italian tech conglomerate Bending Spoons for $1.38 billion in 2025, faced layoffs this week.
According to Business Insider, a Bending Spoons spokesperson did not confirm the scale of the layoffs.
This is the second set of layoffs for Vimeo following a round of job cuts in September, as the company struggled to become a competitor to YouTube.
Bending Spoons recently acquired a number of software companies, including Evernote, Meetup, and WeTransfer, and is said to have a history of trimming staff numbers following company acquisitions.
For instance, Bending Spoons cut 75% of its WeTransfer staff after buying that platform. – Rappler.com
