Observers piled on political analyst Rachael Bade on Sunday after she argued in a new Substack essay that President Donald Trump's latest scandal is a "PR crisis."

Bade, a former journalist who now authors "The Inner Circle" on Substack, argued on Sunday that the recent killing of two American citizens in Minneapolis by Trump's immigration agents is "the biggest PR crisis of ... Trump's second term." Bade was referring to Alex Pretti and Renee Good, both of whom were gunned down by immigration agents while protesting Trump's deportation tactics.

"The president has long been his own best PR professional," Bade wrote. "An avid consumer of news and media, he has to know that what happened Saturday will turn the tide against the administration. So far, we’ve heard little from the president. But the administration’s response appears to be throwing gasoline on the fire."

Observers shared their reactions on social media.

"Public relations crisis? They're shooting the public," Pat Dennis, president of American Bridge, posted on X.

"Smearing a man that your goons murdered in cold blood is not 'cringe,'" Tim Miller, host of "The Bulwark Podcast," posted on X.

"Yeah. Definitely a PR problem," Huffington Post journalist S.V. Dáte posted on X.

"I don’t like calling it a PR crisis. Because that suggests that a better message could fix the problem. But this is a policy problem-a majority of Americans don’t like anything about what ICE is doing," Brian Rosenwald, senior editor of Made By History, posted on X. "We’ve seen video after video of them acting violently, threatening people, etc."
