On January 27th, PANews reported that Peter Steinberger, founder of ClawdBot, posted on the X platform that his GitHub account had been hijacked by crypto scammers and requested assistance from the GitHub community to recover it. He clarified that he had not created any token projects and accused the accusations of misusing his GitHub commit history. Furthermore, he stated that the account name change was at the request of Anthropic and not a voluntary decision. He also claimed that due to trademark issues, he had to change the ClawdBot account name, but the GitHub account renaming failed, and the X account name was also registered by "shills" in the crypto community.
