Employee-owned contractor selects site for its national learning, onboarding, and development campus to establish a premier corporate learning destination.

ST. LOUIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#BuildingLeaders–McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. (McCarthy), a 100% employee-owned company, announced the completion of its purchase of a 12-acre former hotel and convention site, which will become the company’s new campus for people development, innovation, leadership programming, and company culture. Demonstrating McCarthy’s ongoing investment in its people, the campus will host thousands of McCarthy employees from across the country annually for multi-day learning and development programs, team-build outings, and company meetings.

This campus expands McCarthy’s investment in supporting employee learning, which has been nationally recognized by Training Magazine as the first construction company ever inducted into their Training Top-10 Hall of Fame and annually ranked among the top training organizations in America.

“This purchase marks another major investment in our people, performance, and culture, and it underscores our long-term commitment to developing the next generation of builders and leaders,” said Ray Sedey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for McCarthy. “By creating a dedicated campus for specialized training, connection, and leadership development, we’re positioning our employees — and therefore our clients — for long-term success.”

As a longstanding community builder, McCarthy will revitalize the 12-acre campus, preserving its distinctive architectural character while bringing a completely refreshed and modern aesthetic to the campus.

“This campus will be a testament to the powerful partnerships that came together to bring this vision to life. The passion and talent of our McCarthy partners are at the heart of this effort, and we are all-in on developing our people—at every level—to be visionary leaders of our projects and company into the future,” said Antonya Williams, McCarthy’s Regional Chief Strategy Officer.

“We have known and respected McCarthy’s work for decades and we are so proud that they chose Tempe as the location for their new Center for Learning and Development,” said Mayor Corey Woods. “Their significant investment in restoring and improving this property is appreciated, and our city looks forward to hosting the thousands of McCarthy construction professionals who will be visiting each year.”

This new campus complements McCarthy’s Innovation and Craft Workforce Center (ICWC) in Chandler, Arizona, which focuses on training craft professionals and trade partners through discipline-specific training, hands-on skills development, and prefabrication capabilities. Together, the two facilities support McCarthy’s comprehensive approach to workforce development. The new Tempe center will host professional development programs, leadership and executive development, and skill-specific coaching and training for the firm’s 8,000 employees throughout the year.

Planning and construction improvements at the newly purchased Tempe property will continue over the next 18–24 months.

Frank Sinatra performs on his TV special Frank Sinatra: A Man and his Music Bettmann Archive These days on the Billboard charts, Frank Sinatra’s music can always be found on the jazz-specific rankings. While the art he created when he was still working was pop at the time, and later classified as traditional pop, there is no such list for the latter format in America, and so his throwback projects and cuts appear on jazz lists instead. It’s on those charts where Sinatra rebounds this week, and one of his popular projects returns not to one, but two tallies at the same time, helping him increase the total amount of real estate he owns at the moment.
