Shytoshi Kusama, the lead ambassador for Shiba Inu, recently returned to social media after weeks of silence. His return follows one of the toughest periods in the SHIB ecosystem, especially after the Shibarium hack in September 2025. This incident led to significant losses for many users, and Kusama’s absence left the SHIB community in need of clarity and guidance.

Shytoshi Kusama Breaks Silence Amid SHIB Crisis

Shytoshi Kusama had kept a low profile on social media for much of the final months of 2025. His silence came after the Shibarium hack, which left many in the SHIB community seeking answers. Despite the growing concerns, Kusama reassured the community that he was still actively supporting the Shiba Inu development team behind the scenes.

Kusama’s return to X, a social media platform, sparked much anticipation from SHIB supporters. He addressed these concerns, stating that he had intentionally remained silent during the crisis, emphasizing the importance of speaking only when necessary. “Sometimes silence is a weapon for quiet war,” Kusama shared, suggesting a strategic approach to leadership.

As the SHIB community continued to face uncertainty, many began asking for more transparency and regular updates from Kusama. One such request came from an X user, Ruggrat, who urged Kusama to speak up. The user argued that during tough times like these, a few words of leadership and direction would be greatly appreciated by the community.

Kusama responded to this call, explaining that his silence was not an abandonment of the community but rather a measured response. “One bandage. Take off. Fix. Put on. One at a time,” Kusama said. He also noted that Sunday would be a crucial day for the SHIB community as he planned to share his thoughts in an extended update.

What to Expect on Sunday: Kusama’s Upcoming SHIB Update

Kusama highlighted that Sunday would be an “ultra-important” day for the SHIB community, promising to share crucial insights. According to his statement, the update would likely take two hours or more to deliver fully. He emphasized that the update would be in-depth and address many concerns the community had raised during the recent crisis.

This announcement has left many SHIB holders eagerly awaiting the details that Kusama plans to reveal. He noted the importance of clarity and transparency in regaining the trust of the community, especially after the Shibarium incident.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
